If you feel the need to clean your canvas awnings
on your boat, you are certainly free to do so. But, before you
do, it may be best to think about the best way to do so.
Most likely, the best way to do it is by following these following
steps:
• Brush off loose dirt – If there is any loose dirt
on the awning before cleaning begins, it can complicate the cleaning
process.
• Hose it down – Hosing the item off is one way to
get rid of a lot of the debris or dirt on it. Although this doesn’t
get everything, it does get quite a bit.
• Prepare cleanser – This mixture should be mild and
include only water and natural soap. Detergents could have an
adverse effect on your canvas awnings.
• Soak it in – In order to clean properly, the soap
is going to need some time in order to be able to soak in completely.
• Rinse – You should take your time rinsing. If you
do not get all of the soap out, this will increase the likelihood
of having mildew on the awnings in the near future.
• Air dry – Like with the whole process, patience
is key. Air drying allows the item to dry more naturally and more
fresh.
By following the steps that have been outlined for you here,
you will better be able to understand how you can not only care
for your canvas awnings now, but also for many years in the future.
