Are you trying to decide between a fabric awning and a metal awning? Here’s some helpful information to aid you in your decision.
A metal awning is more durable then a fabric awning. Unlike fabric awnings that should be taken down in harsh weather conditions such as snow or heavy rain storms; metal awnings can survive these harsh conditions and be left up year-round. A metal awning generally blocks out more of the sun’s rays then a fabric awning, creating more shade. However, some people like a little bit of the sun’s light to get through. Fabric awnings are better for this. A fabric awning has to be cleaned more often then a metal awning. You usually have to clean them about three times a year. Metal awnings do not fade from the sun.
While metal awnings are more durable and last longer, fabric awnings are generally more attractive. Metal awnings can sometimes rust, making them look cheap. This is why it is always important to go with a rust proof awning if you are purchasing a metal one.
If you want something durable and long lasting that can be left up year-round, then you’re in need of a metal awning.
