Fabric
awnings can be used over doors, windows, porches, decks, and RVs.
But when not set up properly, they’ll become more of a hassle
then a convenience.
When setting up your awning it is important to stretch the fabric
so that is fits tightly. A loosely fitting fabric awning will sag
in the middle and dirt and debris will collect inside of it. It can
also create a problem if it rains. Rain water will pool in the fabric
and will drip in or spill over the edge, leaving you and your outdoor
furniture drenched.
Most awnings have enough support to keep the fabric tight. But if
you require extra support, a beam that is placed in the middle of
the awning’s underbelly can be used to help support the awning.
